The biggest crime of this show is that it’s not the full year. I wanted this ending drawn out a lot longer to be honest and I’m so upset it didn’t feel like we got the full experience of Kuroiwa going off it on his eugenics plot.

I can’t believe it but I really liked Changerion. It is pure undiluted Inoue vision. I got handed so much in this show that in any other show I’d of thought twice about but it was Changerion so I just accepted it and moved on.

Akira is a man of no redeeming qualities. He has absolutely zero to the point it's almost astonishing. He can't even take down the main villain, we can't even count that as a redeeming quality. The only potential one is he cons the bank out of millions to take his 50+ girlfriends out on dates. This man has no right to be a hero and the show is extremely proud of it. There's no hiding it. Akira is just an awful person and everyone knows it. But I loved watching him
I love Eri. I liked Akemi but Eri's character definitely got better after Akemi left since Inoue didn't feel he had to spend every moment on female rivalry. Eri felt very independent, and not in Inoue's tough mommy way that he's so fond of. It felt like Eri could of held this thing together without her idiot "hero" companions. I even, didn't mind her hetero subplot. In fact, I somewhat enjoyed it for what it was. I just wish the ending gave a bit more time to let her have her time on it.
Hayami has one singular brain cell and occassionally they rub it awake for it to realise Akira is an awful person, before it falls back asleep allowing him to forget that. Among other important things he should probably know about but never will. Hayami was a good way to bring some balance to how awful Akira is. He's just so sweet and earnest but not truly hero material in the way he should be.
Ultimately, I feel we maybe just, didn't get enough Kuroiwa for the ending. I really wanted the full morality nail on why eugenics is bad just drove in but it came out mild. However, Kuroiwa is such a fun villain. He's incredibly funny and it really carried across well how he was using trivia to fill in for his insecurities. I'd of liked more on his counselling office, I think it's a really good concept to explore with the MotW just sometimes going to counselling. I think that helped build into things like 555 in future with how monsters were approached. Kuroiwa just as a concept working into that.

Please watch Changerion, this must be experienced by many
