Kamen Rider Decade

I try not to swear here as much as possible but Tsukasa is a Bastard. That is his character. A loveable one, unlike Tendou he didn’t kill someone I love. I appreciate that his possibly non-canon backstory involved him finding out his sister had magic powers, and immediately abusing them and leaving her behind. However, the big series let down is I still don’t know why he became leader of DaiShocker in the first place and it’s all I wanted to know. He is such a lovable jerk though and he loves musicals.

Daiki is love. Daiki is everything I have loved in a character since I was a child and it was a delight to have him on my screen. I knew this character so well because he’s all I wanted him to be. Going in, I didn’t expect the personality I got, no one warned me he was an even worse bastard than Tsukasa. I am delighted with what I got. Thing about him is I’m now constantly thinking about how once upon a time, Kaitou Daiki was Officer Kaitou and he did criminal psychology, potentially being really good at it. Then he learned the police were corrupt and he decided to just be a rude gay thief and date the leader of DaiShocker and offer him sea cucumber all the time. Honestly he’s the representation we deserve.

I love Natsumi. This was the era of female characters in rider where I just seemed to really like them; they had such good characters and weren’t cute accessories to the guys. Natsumi was really fun and she’s just a delight. She’d kill and or sell Tsukasa given the chance. This is the one we can stan.

As expected, Onodera is not and never will be Godai Yusuke. His introduction was awful. I like him throughout the rest of the series but by God his introduction was just making him seem so awful. He is definitely a necessary character to this team from a story writing perspective, though it does result in Onodera goes to every world and immediately gives everyone Tsukasa’s life story.
