Ghost I will first off say is not as bad as everyone tried to tell me. It’s even got a concrete plot which got better without the original writer at the helm because their show did not start great. This was incredibly rocky at the start, then he disappeared and the show got better for it.

I’m not really sure on what the theming of Ghost was, just kind of a vague be nice to people message, I guess. It’s not bad, it’s just not particularly concrete or standout as other shows but this wasn’t a fault of the later show it was just how it was from the start.

There is, however, a lot of random plot threads that are brought up and ultimately mean nothing. Some things happen and are just never brought up again so we guess it was just forgotten.

Hoodies in this show are stellar and I want many of them.

Takeru is good, he’s not a particularly interesting protagonist sadly but he’s got a good heart. He wants to befriend everyone and would like to eat some day. He’s very self sacrificing which isn’t really a challenged character trait in the way it is in a few other heisei riders so he falls more in line with the typical hero in that way.

Makoto is alright, he’s mainly focused on Kanon and Alain, but he’s not half as creepy as I was lead to believe about that. He is, however, also a very self sacrificing hero but just more for the people he loves than the broad everyone.

His weapon is a grabber hand and I laugh at it every time.

Alain doesn’t think. Not once. He has never had a thought in his life.

But oh my god was it exhausting to hear people call Kanon his girlfriend in the first section. Like yes, they sure are standing next to each other while she has zero personality thank you. Sometimes he will be extremely possessive over her brother, a clear sign that he likes her?

Alain’s greatest development happened after the head writer left and we got to see him deal with humanity and death and loss which did great to help him grow and be a more fitting hero.

Followed by if we’re not centring the plot on him we’re gonna make him obsessed with takoyaki which wasn’t quite established but whatever it’s good.

Ghost is pretty much a fluff show but I liked it well enough. It was far from a frustrating watch and I was able to enjoy most of it.
