Oh Kabuto you beautiful hellscape. What have you done. This show is a broken mess of no focus on everything and a billion plots happening. Some plot points just come to nothing. They are meaningless in Tendou Souji’s grand plan. May you forget about them because they will never be resolved. Despite this, I love Kabuto. It’s a wild ride and you feel it.
If I believed Tendou was mortal, if I believed he was a force on this Earth that can be stopped, I would be able to live my days in peace. But the one who walks the path of Heaven is no mere mortal. He can not die, he can not be stopped. He will come in and ruin the lives of everyone he can. I hate you, Tendou. Yet, like everyone in the show, I will be wrapped up in this and forced to follow you. You may be pretty but your mouth releases nothing but evil.
Yaguruma meanwhile is an angel sent from the heavens. We know this as he is the only one ever able to beat Tendou at his ridiculous superiority contest. He loves his team so much. He’s kind and pure and believes in his Perfect Harmony. If anyone in this deserves good to bless them, it’s him.
This ones my favourite. This is a disaster and I fell in love the minute I realised he was just built to continually make a mess of his own life. I can’t express anything but love for the mess that is Kageyama.
Also I will defend and protect him from all who laugh at him.
I love Gon considerably more than Daisuke, but I support Daisuke as her big brother. He messes up a lot but he does care for her in a very good brother way. Boy he makes a mess of some of this series with his heterosexual subplots though.
Tsurugi is the baby that just grows on you as he grows as a person. Meeting him is the fear that you’ve just been handed Tendou Souji again and you hate being handed Tendou Souji. Except Tsurugi grows so soft and loving and though he can be a pain you forgive him because he just doesn’t know how to act like a normal person. I love him despite it.
Kagami very much brings the show together as our every man. He’s the one here for the audience to relate to. However, this backfires and honestly makes him one of the most forgettable riders in the show despite Toei trying to say he’s our secondary. I remember Kagami as Kagami; not as Gatack.
The True Delight and reason to watch Kamen Rider Kabuto; my darling Hoppers. Are these even riders, we don’t care. They’re an emotional rollercoaster as I both adore them and pray they just stop doing things to upset me every single time they’re on screen.
I do not know if I can fully recommend Kamen Rider Kabuto. I recommend it for the Hoppers. I recommend it if you can handle it being absolute nonsense and having to deal with Tendou Souji. Also as long as you can handle the fact this series features a lot of sibling complexes, which can definitely be off putting to many viewers.
