Mighty Morphin' Alien Rangers

Publication Date: 25/08/2019

Your disclaimer is it has been so long since I saw this but I specifically remember liking a lot of this actually, despite it being a lot of people’s least favourite. I really like the dumb children plots, they’re nice and cheesy which works out. Billy is still Billy which is fantastic because theres no content quite like Billy interacting with aliens. It’s all I want. Especially Cestro, Cestro and Billy interacting is fantastic.

I think this is when we got the rangers… we visited their “home countries” in a not actual home countries kind of way. Insert some vague racism of the 90s I guess. It’s definitely an interesting thing to do and gives us settings outside of Angel Grove. This is also how we have to say goodbye to Aisha who is now going to do animal conservation in Africa and we will not question the timeline for that. It’s one of those things where I like it but there are many problems with it (see our favourite Native American Ranger, Tommy Oliver, and his entire thing here) and it is just incredibly cheesy, like all of power rangers.

I’m incredibly weak for this alien junk so this was a great, I liked a lot of the child rangers, I liked baby Bulk and Skull, they did a great job of filling in for their adult counterparts.

I don’t really do ranger by ranger for Zordon Era given a lot of the characters are just vague archetypes of people, but I liked Cestro, I liked Delphine, that’s about the stand out of this.
